Dear Governor Dayton protect our rice and water! Call for Action!

Take action and demand a moratorium on any new oil pipeline development, pipeline expansion, or pipeline abandonment in the state of Minnesota until a full environmental impact statement has been conducted.  A full environmental impact statement as required under National Environmental Protection Act for projects with significant potential impact.  It is time for the state of Minnesota and the United State Federal Government to adopt more robust permitting processes for oil pipelines.

Dear Governor Dayton, protect our rice and water!

Ganawenjigedaa Manoomin

Our water is being threatened with new pipeline proposals.

The Sandpiper, MinnCan expansion, Line 3 replacement are being pushed through the Minnesota PUC. Combined with the illegal expansion of the Alberta Clipper and potential full abandonment of the Enbridge mainline, it is time to critically analyze this state’s energy infrastructure. We have been denied information and foreign corporations are taking eminent domain of our land. These proposals pass through treaty protected lands and wild rice, the Ojibwe people’s lifeblood and our watersheds are threatened. It is time to stop. I , demand a moratorium on any new oil pipeline development, pipeline expansion, or pipeline abandonment in the state of Minnesota until a full environmental impact statement has been conducted.

I, the undersigned demand a full environmental impact statement as required under National Environmental Protection Act for projects with significant potential impact. It is time for the state of Minnesota and the United State Federal Government to adopt more robust permitting processes for oil pipelines. The legacy of our decisions will remain for our children and their children. Now is our opportunity to secure a healthly environment for future generations.
