Neal Ambrose-Smith, Inuksois, Flathead Salish/Shoshone/Metis
Neal Ambrose-Smith graduated from the University of Northern Colorado with a Bachelor of Arts degree in painting. With guitar and sketchbook, he continued studying independently in France , Spain , Mexico and the United States . Over 10 years ago, Mr. Ambrose-Smith received his Indian name, Inuksois, (the Blackfeet word for Buffalo Tail) from Mike Swims in an Okan ceremony. He has continued to attend Medicine Lodge ceremonies over the past decade, which has significantly impacted the way he views the world and the way he makes his work.
