Carl Beam, Ojibwa
Mr. Beam was a mixed media artist, sculptor, printmaker, and painter. He graduated from Kootenay School of Art and University of Victoria in British Columbia with a Bachelors degree in Fine Arts. Mr. Beam also attended the Masters program at the University of Alberta . Throughout his career, he used a variety of colors, forms, and textures, combining his medium with news clippings and photographs to engage the viewer in issues of international politics. Mr. Beam was born in West Bay , Manitoulin Island , Ontario in 1943, where he died in the summer of 2005.
