Richard Castaneda, Pima/Maricopa
In 2003, Mr. Castaneda received his Associate of Fine Arts degree in Two-Dimensional Arts from the Institute of American Indian Arts (IAIA) in Santa Fe , New Mexico . Originally from Salt River Reservation in Scottsdale , Arizona , Mr. Castaneda currently resides in San Francisco where he is a student at the Academy of Art University, pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Fine Art Photography. Mr. Castaneda's work is mostly generated and inspired by the ongoing misconceptions of Native people and the negative effect it has on the identity of the generations. Through his photography and art, he re-envisions the strengths of the past and, through the realities of the present, brings to light the justice of time.
