Love Water Not Oil Fundraising Party!

Please join us for an evening of home-cooked food, original music, and a growing movement to protect the Earth. This is a joint fundraiser to support 2 urgent frontline Indigenous struggles against oil pipelines - Honor the Earth and the Camp of the Sacred Stones. Everyone is welcome and everyone has something to contribute. Come learn something new, meet some new people, and discover what you have to offer to this movement. Indigenous people are on the frontlines fighting for their lives, but it will take all of us to win.

Background:
Honor the Earth is a Native environmental organization based on the White Earth Reservation and led by internationally reknowned author and activist Winona LaDuke. They are gearing up for a summer of action to stop a new pipeline corridor proposed through the Mississippi River headwaters, Northern Minnesota’s best lakes, and some of the largest wild rice beds in the world. In July, the public is invited to join the 4th Annual Love Water Not Oil tour, a spiritual journey by horse and canoe to protect our sacred waters. The tour is an opportunity for long-term organizing and movement building, and a chance for Native and non-Native people to connect physically and spiritually with the land we all call home. The Camp of the Sacred Stones is an action camp established by members of the Standing Rock Sioux Nation on the banks of the Missouri River in Cannonball, North Dakota, along the proposed route of the Dakota Access Pipeline. The camp is determined to physically stop the pipeline through non-violent direct action. The pipeline is already being constructed within sight of the camp, urgently threatening the land, water, health, and sacred sites of the Standing Rock community, in direct violation of federal law. But the Camp of the Sacred Stones is growing by the day, and allies are coming from all over the world to support. Funds are needed immediately to sustain and fortify the increasing resistance.
