PLEASE NOTE:  THE VENUE HAS CHANGED.  THE FEAST WILL NO LONGER BE HELD AT CLYDE IRON WORKS.  THE EVENT WILL BE AT THE SHRINER'S TEMPLE.

On Sunday, December 20, we invite you to the Shriner's Temple in Duluth, MN for our 2nd annual Manidoo Giizisoons Feast (Feast of the Little Spirit Moon), a 4-course indigenous feast by the Sioux Chef featuring Native foods in "pre-contact" recipes, prepared using the traditional ways of our ancestors.  Join us to celebrate the winter solstice and the abundance of the north country, and honor the sacred waters of our region.  The feast will be themed to the current moon of the Anishinaabe calendar, the Manidoo Giizisoons (Little Spirit Moon).   We will enjoy music by the Oshkii Giizik singers and Ojibwe folk musician Annie Humphrey, who recently released a new CD!

Native craft fair and silent auction begin at 2:00pm.  Social hour and traditional music begin at 5:30pm. Dinner will be served at 6:30pm.

Tickets are $65 per person, or $440 for a table of 8 seats (a great deal!).   All proceeds support campaigns to protect our land, water, and health in the face of extreme extraction.

Chef Sean Sherman, aka The Sioux Chef, is an Oglala Lakota Sioux from Pine Ridge.  Sean has spent the past 25 years harvesting the wisdom of our ancestors and perfecting the art of “pre-contact” Native American cuisine.   He is a leader of the resurgent indigenous foods movement and is turning heads all over the globe with his revival of the old ways.  He also runs the Tatanka food truck in the Twin Cities, is opening a restaurant and learning center, and is publishing a cookbook.   We are honored to have him as our featured chef.

Please join us to celebrate the winter solstice and this land we all love, with a succulent 4-course feast.  Be sure to come early for our Native craft fair. This holiday season, support local Indigenous artisans. Keep it simple, keep it local.

If you are a Native artist in the area interested in participating in the fair please contact Thane Maxwell, thane@honorearth.org or (612) 900-5108.

If you are vegetarian, or if you have food allergies, that's no problem.   Please email Thane Maxwell, thane@honorearth.org or (612) 900-5108, and we will do our best to accommodate you!   (Don't worry about dairy, gluten, or processed sugar - Sean doesn't use it anyway!)

We are also hosting a similar event in Minneapolis on Friday, December 18th.   Click here for details.
