Please join us at 5pm on January 29th at the Hubbard Community Center in Park Rapids, MN, for an informal gathering to come together in the protection of our water. We will share coffee, snacks, and information about Enbridge's proposal to abandon their existing Line 3 crude oil pipeline and build a new one in a brand new corridor through a pristine aquatic ecosystem - including some of our best lakes and fisheries, and some the largest wild rice beds in the world.
These pipelines threaten the fresh water we all love and depend on for survival, including three of the continent’s major watersheds. The proposed new Line 3 would also pierce the heart of Ojibwe treaty territory, endangering the resources critical to the cultural and physical survival of the Ojibwe people.
We will put our minds together and explore strategies for taking action to stop these bad projects and hold Enbridge accountable for cleaning up its messes - and putting hard working Minnesotans to work doing it.
This event is free and open to the public, but limited space is available, so an RSVP is required. Please contact Pam Brock at firstname.lastname@example.org to let us know you're planning to join us.
We look forward to seeing you in Park Rapids on the 29th. Let us come together as a community to protect the land and waters of the North.
