4th Annual Love Water Not Oil Tour 2016

This July, we invite the public to join us for our 4th Annual Love Water Not Oil Tour.  Our battle against the proposed Sandpiper and Line 3 pipeline corridor continues, and our resistance is growing.  We will ride horses and paddle canoes along the proposed pipeline route, upstream against the current of the oil that will never come.   We will connect with the land spiritually and build our power at feasts and concerts along the way, celebrating the abundance of our Anishinaabe Akiing.

Bring your horses and canoes and join us!   The ride begins at the East Lake Community Center on July 18th and ends on August 1st at the Rice Lake Community Center on White Earth.  Only July 22 we will have a concert at the Hunt Utilities "___Campus" in Pine River with Ojibwe folk singer Annie Humphrey.  On July 28th, we will celebrate Winona's birthday with a Keith Secola concert on Madeline Island, and Keith will play again in Duluth on July 31st at the Red Herring, and again in Bemidji on August 2nd with Annie Humphrey and Sonny Johnson.   See below for details.  If you plan to join us for any part, or if you're interested in sponsoring, organizing a group, donating, or volunteering, please contact Thane at [email protected], 612-900-5108.

If you can't join us but want to support the tour, please donate here.  We rely on grassroots fundraising to make this tour possible.

We need your help!

This tour won’t be possible without a lot of volunteers.  We need people to:

-       arrange hosts and accommodations for our groups

-       arrange food and water for both people and horses

-       be spotters on the roads while we are on horses

-       drive support vehicles and horse trailers

-       help put on big public events

We also need people to pray, and support us financially, and speak up for the rice and water.   The time is now.  We look forward to seeing you.

We are truly grateful, and appreciate our sponsors for our Love Water Not Oil Tour 2015 - Miigwech !
